StandICT.eu is joining today, 17th October 2019, the Multi Stakeholder Platform on ICT Standardisation at the European Commission premises in Brussels for the last meeting of this year. The Multi Stakeholder Platform is composed of representatives of national authorities from EU Member States & EFTA countries, by the European and international ICT standardisation bodies, and by stakeholder organisations that represent industry, small and medium-sized enterprises and consumers.
The main role of the MSP is to guide European Commission on matters related to the implementation of ICT Standardisation policies as the following ones:
- Potential future ICT standardisation needs in support of European legislation and policies
- Cooperation between ICT standards-setting organisations;
- Define criteria for the “ICT Rolling Plan for Standardisation”, which provides a multi-annual overview of the needs for preliminary or complementary ICT standardisation activities in support of the EU policy activities
The meeting will be the chance for StandICT.eu to bring to the table the main outputs of the project into spotlight, by showing the tangible impact achieved through the Standardisation activities & see where the 258 applicants funded poured their contributions into the in the past 24 months. Another aspect worthy of attention is the seamless distribution of the StandICT.eu grants. The following infographic shows how the initiative managed to achieve a well-balanced distribution of funding: as a result, a wide range of Standard Developing Organisation (SDOS) took advantage of the expertise of ICT Experts which contributed to the development of Standards in multiple ICT domains, even beyond the key-pillars of the Digital Single Market.
The results will also be showcased at the final StandICT.eu event taking place on the 5th December in Brussels entitled: Reflections & Sustainability -StandICT.Eu 24 Months On
