    Digital asset custodians are critical for the late adoption of crypto-currencies, as they will provide an easy and convenient way for the average user to safely store the keys needed for accessing the funds. The permissionless model of (almost all) crypto-currencies poses specific technical problems to this storage, as there are no ways to recover from a lost key. Also, many crypto-currencies exchanges (that are the other typical context where the security management of digital asset custodian is needed) have experienced many successful attacks, and as such a standardized way to deal with these different systems, providing a strong baseline for secure management, is required.
