SCOPE

ISO/IEC 2382-37:2017 establishes a systematic description of the concepts in the field of biometrics pertaining to recognition of human beings and reconciles variant terms in use in pre-existing biometric standards against the preferred terms, thereby clarifying the use of terms in this field.

    This is the 2nd edition of the biometrics vocabulary, prepared by ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 WG1. It confirms the terms defined in the 1st edition, and adds new ones. It is currently under revision in order to add more terms. Due to a ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 decision, this standard is made publicly available.
